I’m Alison, a family photographer based in Hull, East Yorkshire. I create relaxed, natural photographs for families of all ages and generations, from tiny babies to grandparents and great-grandparents.
My approach is simple: give your family the time and space to just be.
No pressure. No expectation of perfection. Just beautiful photographs of the people you love.
I believe every family should have photographs that are right for them.
I love a beautiful posed portrait. I love a gorgeous outfit and that photograph where everyone is looking at the camera.
But family life doesn’t always look like that.
Sometimes it’s a cuddle. A giggle. A little hand in yours. Someone making everyone laugh. A quiet moment between two people who know each other completely.
Those moments matter.
Years from now, it won’t matter whether everyone wore white. You’ll remember how it felt to be together.
That’s what I want to capture.
My studio in Hull, East Yorkshire is a calm, patient and welcoming space where we don’t have to rush.
With first-hand experience of neurodiversity, I understand that everyone has different needs, personalities and ways of being.
Some children need to move. Some people need more time. Some don’t want to look at the camera at all.
That’s okay.
You don’t have to perform for me.
I’ll meet your family where you are, allowing the photographs to happen naturally while still creating beautiful portraits you’ll be proud to display.
Family photography isn’t only about bringing everyone together for one portrait.
It’s also about documenting the moments that shape your family’s story — a new baby, children growing up, important milestones and the interests that make them who they are.
